The room has a particular warmth to it. Reviewers keep coming back to that word: homey. At Golden Elk Lodge #2740, the bar staff know how to read a room, whether they're pouring drinks after a funeral reception or keeping the energy up at an 80s prom-themed birthday party. That consistency, small-venue intimacy paired with genuine hospitality, is exactly what the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has stood for since its founding in 1868.

Situated on W 50th Ave in Golden, CO, the Lodge sits against the backdrop of the Front Range foothills, a fitting setting for a fraternal organization rooted in community service, charitable giving, and looking out for veterans. With a 4.4-star rating across 32 reviews, this isn't a place people stumble into once and forget. Members and guests return because the handshake is real and the welcome is earned.

From poker nights that draw laughter and friendly competition to milestone celebrations that fill every corner of the inside and outside areas, the Lodge adapts to what its community needs. The BPOE's five core values, charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity, aren't just carved into plaques here. They show up in how the staff treats a grieving family and how members treat a first-time guest.

"Went here for a 50th birthday party or friends held. It is a small venue but it has a very nice old feel to it. Had an inside and outside area head decorated nicely in an 80's prom theme. Older staff handled us well lol. Has a cash bar, if you want something special served, check ahead of time and make sure you stick it lol. The parking area is a little small, but manageable, we had about 50 people definitely room for more."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
